Welcome to Bake Notes. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Bake Notes website and service (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Bake Notes. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

Account Registration

Bake Notes offers open registration. You may create an account directly by providing the required registration information. We reserve the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate access to the Service at our discretion.

When you create an account, you are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

Use License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Bake Notes for personal, non-commercial use. Under this license you may not:

  • Modify, copy, or create derivative works based on the Service
  • Use the Service for any commercial purpose or public display
  • Attempt to reverse engineer any software contained in the Service
  • Remove any copyright or proprietary notations
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access or interact with the Service
  • Attempt to circumvent any security features of the Service

Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to the content you create and upload to Bake Notes, including baking notes, photos, audio recordings, and recipe data.

By uploading content, you grant Bake Notes a limited license to use, process, store, and analyze this content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This includes sending your content to third-party AI services (such as OpenAI) for features like chat conversations, bake analysis, photo analysis, and audio transcription. We do not sell your content or use it for purposes unrelated to providing the Service.

Publicly Shared Content

The Service includes the ability to share individual bakes publicly via a unique link. When you enable sharing, certain bake information (name, description, ratings, AI-generated summary, and photos) becomes accessible to anyone with the link. You are solely responsible for any content you choose to make public. You may disable sharing at any time, which immediately removes public access.

AI-Generated Content

Bake Notes uses artificial intelligence to generate bake summaries, analyze photos, transcribe audio, extract ingredients and techniques, and provide baking insights. AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only and may not always be accurate or complete. You should not rely solely on AI-generated content for food safety decisions, allergen identification, or nutritional information. We are not responsible for any errors or omissions in AI-generated content.

Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers including OpenAI (AI processing), Amazon Web Services (photo storage), Sentry (error monitoring), PostHog (product analytics and session replay), and Cloudflare (security). Your use of the Service is also subject to the terms and policies of these providers. We are not responsible for the practices or availability of third-party services.

Account Termination

You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at the email address below. Upon account deletion, all your data, including bakes, photos, recordings, conversations, and settings, will be permanently removed.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms, is harmful to other users, or is otherwise objectionable.

Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Bake Notes does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or reliable.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall Bake Notes or its suppliers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation loss of data, profits, or business interruption, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service, even if Bake Notes has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time by posting the updated version on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
